Broken Teeth from Assault
"Yesterday night at around 7:00 PM I got on the number 11 bus at Polo Park.
Shortly afterward, an intoxicated homeless man got on the same bus, and began agressively sexually harassing a young woman. After about 10 minutes of this, I got out of my seat, and positioned myself inbetween these two people so that the man could no longer speak to her. He was upset that I did this and we began getting into a verbal argument.
At this point, a third person, a man who had been uninvolved up until this point, said that both myself and the intoxicated man were being unecessarily stupid, and that both of us need to "sit down and shut up" (basically). Genuinely curious, I asked this man how my defending a woman who no one else would is stupid. Things escalated very quickly with him shouting that he doesn't give a fuck and how he'll happily "step off the bus" with me to deal with this.
I then asked what that would prove, what he would be trying to accomplish by fighting me. This was clearly the wrong question to ask, as he then punched me once directly in the mouth at full force. He immediately got off the bus, and I reported the incident to the bus driver. The bus driver cleared the bus, took down my information, and told me to call the police ASAP so they could work together to try and find the man who hit me. I then called the police and filed a report. That's all I can do for now.
I have several shattered teeth. To be specific, 3 of my top front teeth and 4 of my bottom front teeth are chipped. 3 of these chipped teeth have visibly exposed nerves or roots or whatever. It literally hurts to breathe. I also have a black eye.
But y'know what? I would, and I WILL do the same thing again. I will never stand by and watch a woman go through that without saying something, without helping. I'm beyond disappointed that on a bus full of people (it was really crowded too) I was the only person willing to do something. Because I wasn't the only person who noticed what was happening, several people were watching this drunk man attempting to grind up on this stranger with looks of disgust in their eyes.
I don't even know what I'm trying to say or why I'm sharing this, I'm just disappointed."

I am the party I was raising funds for.

The funds I have received so far will be replacing lost wages for missed work and increased child care while I am undergoing and recovering from dental surgery.
If I have received more funds than I need, I will donate the remaining funds to an organization working in women's rights (ex. women's shelter).
I do not wish to receive any more funds, and have closed this campaign.
5. How you intend to get the funds to those in need
As I am the individual who is in need of these funds, I will transfer the funds from here into my bank account, and in the event of a donation, will write a check to the organization I will have chosen by that point.
